Melphalan is a cancer medication. Melphalan interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body.
WHAT IS THE USE OF ALPHALAN TABLETS?
Melphalan is used to treat multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer), cancer of the ovary, and breast cancer.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE-EFFECTS OF ALPHALAN TABLETS?
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice; missed menstrual periods; unusual lumps or masses; red skin rash, rapid pulse, pain, weight loss; breathing problems or a cough that won't go away;

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION OF ALPHALAN 2 MG TABLETS?
Before using Melphalan, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease; or decreased bone marrow (from other diseases or medications).
This medication can affect fertility (your ability to have children), whether you are a man or a woman.
Do not use this medication if you are pregnant. It could cause harm to the unborn baby.
It is not known whether Melphalan passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not take Melphalan without telling your doctor if you are breast feeding a baby.
